About Hugh Monn's Debut Collection-
What is particularly refreshing in these tales is that Houston wisely opts not to make his hero a hard-boiled, typically cynical type. Hugh Monn is a genuinely nice guy who likes people and aliens alike and is sincere in trying to make his world a better place for all to live in. He's a good guy I liked meeting and hope to see him again real soon.-Ron Fortier, www.pulpfictionreviews.blogspot.com

The Technological Singularity Event left the world’s governments trembling. War ravaged the land as humans faced off with the Nanite Army of Fire. Eventually the world was plunged into darkness. When the world regained its senses technology had been reduced to the level of the 1800’s. The world governments no longer existed, until one Dr. Fulbright began rebuilding English society in New Southampton. Fate seemed to intervene when Dr. Fulbright’s lab exploded and carved a giant crater in the center of the city. With Dr. Fulbright dead, the struggling city was left without guidance or authority. Authority was regained when brutal Queen Anne anointed herself the new city monarch. Anne quickly established a brutal regime bathed in blood and violence. In light of death and oppression, the people of New Southampton seek saviors. In the darkness, some have heard the call for Revolution. Beings that have crawled out of the time of the Singularity to give the people hope. Many call these harbingers of salvation the Posthumans. The Posthumans have risen from the ashes. Singularity: Rise of the Posthumans. From Pro Se Productions.
WHEN THE SHADOW SEES THE SUN is the realization of a concept of a brilliant creative mind that recognized certain things in himself, dark things. Things he thought he might not overcome. He conceived this idea, partly in jest, but more in earnest desire. A book focused on creative souls who experience depression and struggle with horrors that they exorcise by putting them to paper, but just can’t always let go of that way. He wanted there to be a book out there for creatives (and others who might benefit) by creatives to address the struggles so many endure and to offer ways to cope, to deal, and to move on. To overcome. Logan L. Masterson lost his battle with what plagued him on March 29, 2016. And this book, his idea, is now a reality, to help bring to light the issues creative souls do endure, many similar to anyone else, some unique to our own little family. All proceeds from this book will go to a variety of charities, local as well as state and national, to promote suicide intervention and prevention as well as to assist with working through and surviving depression, with a focus being on those who are artists, writers, performers, etc. affected by this. In these pages, authors John G. Hartness, Tim Byrd, Ernest Russell, Phillip Drayer Duncan, Mark Bousquet, Thomas R. Skidmore, Nikki Nelson-Hicks, Andrea Judy, Scott Hancock, Joe Hilliard, Herika R. Raymer, Melinda LaFevers, Alexander S. Gillentine tear open their souls for you to read. Introduction by Julianna Robinson. Cover by Adam Shaw. And make no mistake. This book is about and because of Logan L. Masterson.
Adrift in space, Alpha eventually awakens to the memory of his emotionally devastating defeat at the hands of Conalaric and the destruction of the planet Shambala. With his genetically enhanced capabilities, the fledgling guardian sworn to protect all who are peaceful and vulnerable in the universe flies off to find himself a new proving ground. A hospitable planet teaming with life is dominated by a race of humanoids less technologically developed than his adopted home world was, but Alpha decides here he can be of great assistance. However not all the people of Earth feel the same way about him. To some Alpha is an angel of hope in a world full of danger and discord. To others he is a potential weapon of mass destruction sent by some unknown entity, and must be stopped at all cost. Unfortunately his unusual abilities attract the attention of both governmental agencies that seek to capture and control him, and a terrorist group willing to do whatever it takes to advance their own ideals. Can Alpha find some way to fit into this very polarized world, or will he always be an outcast even amongst those he wishes to serve for the better of all? Lee Houston Junior’s PROJECT ALPHA-PROVING GROUND. From Pro Se Productions.
