Charles Boeckman Presents Imprint
Charles Boeckman, a 94 year old author/world traveler/jazz musician began self publishing suspense and western stories he wrote in 2012. These tales were originally published in classic Pulp Magazines as well as digest magazines. With a career ranging from the 1940s into the modern era in fiction, much of it crime and western related, Boeckman is truly one of the last remaining true Pulp Authors today and has crafted characters that, although they only appeared once originally, have potential for further adventures, a potential Pro Se Productions plans to tap.
Pro Se Productions has licensed a variety of characters from these original stories created by Mr. Boeckman. Pro Se is proud to publish the CHARLES BOECKMAN PRESENTS line of digest sized anthologies and novellas featuring characters originally created and featured in stories written by Boeckman. Although each individual digest may focus on a different theme or character, they will all appear under the CBP banner, and will feature new stories based on Boeckman's work.

In the wake of the investigation of Pat Taylor (From Boeckman’s original tale), Detective Mike O’Shean and reporter Lil Brown have been seeing each other more regularly. They are getting close, and Mike has taken an interest in Lil’s work. She has been writing about cold cases, unsolved murders from before the war. Spurred by her pieces, O’Shean looks into the files, and discovers the reason why Lil is so interested in such matters.
O’Shean learns that Lil’s stepmother was murdered when she was in school. Her father was the prime suspect, but he was acquitted due to lack of evidence. But now, after travelling the world for the last decade, he is in town, and not two days after he arrives, the one remaining witness to the original crime turns up dead, poisoned in the same fashion as Lil’s stepmother. O’Shean decides that he must look into the case, to help Lil find closure and to keep her alive.
