OLD SCHOOL NEW PULP FICTION FINDS A HOME-PRO SE PRODUCTIONS DEBUTS NEW AUTHOR IMPRINT- DERRICK FERGUSON’S POWER PLAY!

Known for publishing top notch storytellers with unique and innovative approaches, Pro Se Productions, a Genre Fiction and New Pulp Publisher, announces its third Author Imprint since opening its door in 2010. At Windy City Pulp and Paper Convention the weekend of April 12th, Pro Se Productions proudly unveiled the logo and plans for DERRICK FERGUSON’S POWER PLAY, an imprint to focus on the work of Award Winning New Pulp Author and Creator of Dillon, Derrick Ferguson.
“A discussion of New Pulp,” says Tommy Hancock, Partner in and Editor in Chief of Pro Se Productions, “hardly ever happens where Derrick Ferguson and his character Dillon don’t come up. For many, Dillon is the penultimate New Pulp creation, due in large part to the various influences wrapped up in the character as well as Derrick’s passionate, out of the box storytelling. Derrick takes everything about Pulp that fans love and not only puts his own spin on it, but turns it on its head and takes readers on a wild, almost magical roller coaster ride with every story he weaves, be it Dillon or Bass Reeves or a C-Movie adaptation that he turns into an A list book.”
“Even though,” Hancock continues, “Derrick is known amongst New Pulp for Dillon, the man’s imagination goes so much farther that Pro Se felt like it was time he had his very own sandbox to play in. Much like our two previous imprints, DERRICK FERGUSON’S POWER PLAY will be an imprint that will feature of all of Derrick’s Pro Se work written by his own hand as well as anthologies created and overseen by Derrick that allow his ideas to grow thanks to writers personally selected by Derrick. One anthology concept I know I hope to see in POWER PLAY has been floating around between myself and Derrick for a couple of years and will be music to fans’ ears should it happen.”
The first new work to be featured in the POWER PLAY imprint will be DILLON’S ODD JOBS, an anthology of Dillon stories by other authors, due out by June 2019. Pro Se intends to publish a minimum of 2-3 books within the imprint yearly.
