MODERN TAKE ON CLASSIC PULP MYTHOS DEBUTS AS PRO SE SINGLE SHOT SIGNATURE SERIES- AARON SMITH’S SHADOWS OVER AMERICA

Pro Se

Pro Se Productions, a cutting edge Publisher of Genre Fiction, welcomes Author Aaron Smith to its Pro Se Single Shots Signature imprint. Smith’s Shadows Over America- a series of regularly released digital single short stories- is the exploration of one of fiction’s most mysterious and popular worlds.

“H. P. Lovecraft,” says Tommy Hancock, Editor in Chief of and Partner in Pro Se Productions, “left behind an entire universe, a legacy that has influenced, inspired, and terrified creators and fans for decades.  It is a concept that obviously is not only ripe for new tales, but also is a twisted view of reality that lends itself to reimagination by talented authors.  And that’s exactly what Aaron Smith has done with the series of short stories that comprise Shadows Over America.”

Dagon ... R’lyeh ... Cthulhu ... the Necronomicon! These are names known only by the most eccentric of scholars, the most daring of occultists, and the most broken-minded of madmen. Forces that dwell in the spaces between spaces, powerful entities that represent the true nature of the universe, things that exist beyond the realm of humanity’s mundane perceptions, to be glimpsed only rarely by physical eyes at a cost that is almost always insanity or death. But there are times when we do come into contact with these unspeakable forces, either by accident or intent, and long, dark shadows are cast over the minds and lives of those who tread the forbidden paths to true knowledge of the vast, harsh universe! Author Aaron Smith explores the mythos created by H.P. Lovecraft and dares readers to come along on this strange exploration of the Shadows Over America

In the debut story in the series, An Exodus of Worms, Garo, a young boy from a primitive tribe in a time before recorded history, is caught up in a series of events brought on by powerful sorcery and resulting in sudden unforgettable horror. If Garo can survive, the course of his life will be changed forever.

Aaron Smith’s Shadows Over America-An Exodus of Worms features chilling cover art and logo design by Jeff Hayes and digital formatting by Russ Anderson. The first short story in this Lovecraftian series is now available for Kindle at http://tinyurl.com/ozu9qpz and for most other digital formats at http://tinyurl.com/meubrht for only 99 cents.

SCIENCE FICTION AND FANTASY AUTHOR RICHARD WHITE BRINGS WAR TO PRO SE SINGLE SHOT SIGNATURE SERIES- STRIKEFORCE FALCON DEBUTS!

Pro Se

Pro Se Productions, an innovative publisher of Genre Fiction, announces its latest Pro Se Single Shot Signature Series. Author Richard C. White takes adventure into a different theater than most, one that takes on the horrors and heroics of war in Strikeforce Falcon. The series first tale, Flashpoint, is now available as a digital single for only 99 cents.

“War stories,” says Tommy Hancock, Editor in Chief of Pro Se Productions, “have always been a staple of Pulp and Genre Fiction.  And there was never a period that this subgenre developed into something clearly defined and full of potential as it did in the 1940s.  Strikeforce Falcon harkens back to the tales printed on yellowed paper and captured in celluloid for the big screen that made heroes of the common soldier.  What Richard brings to his take on it is not only a love for the type of stories he’s telling, but also an understanding of what war is, something both brutal in its undertaking, but also something that gives rise to great men in life and death situations.”

In the early days of 1942, Imperial Japan was on the march in the Southwest Pacific. The Netherlands East Indies had fallen except for a few holdouts on islands most of their defenders had never heard of before being assigned there. Bataan had fallen and Corregidor Island would only last a few weeks longer. The mighty American navy was still trying to recover from the twin disasters of Pearl Harbor and the Java Sea. It seemed that the Rising Sun would soon make it’s appearance in Australia.

But, not if the men of Strikeforce Falcon had anything to say about it.

Strikeforce Falcon is a series loosely based on the exploits of Z Special Group—a group of Allied commandos who drew on the experiences of the British Special Operations Executive and adapted them to the jungles and islands of the Pacific theater. “Strikeforce Falcon gives me a chance to step out of my comfort zone,” says White. “I’ve been focused on fantasy and science fiction the past ten years, and it’s going to be good to get back to my roots. I think my experiences, both as a U.S. Army veteran as well as a historian, will help me bring these stories to life. But, whatever the source of the inspiration, it’s the action and intrigue surrounding the commando group that drive the story.”

Strikeforce Falcon: Flashpoint features a fantastic cover by Larry Nadolsky, logo design by Jeff Hayes, and digital formatting by Russ Anderson. The digital single is available for the Kindle at http://tinyurl.com/kkqyfkg and for most other digital formats at http://tinyurl.com/m9gz9wc for only 99 cents.

THE FINAL BATTLE COMES DOWN TO ‘BLOOD AND BONE’! ‘THE PULPTRESS VS THE BONE QUEEN’ BY ANDREA JUDY DEBUTS!

Pro Se

Two of the most popular characters from Pro Se Productions return to clash one final time in the cutting edge publisher’s latest digest novel release.  Author Andrea Judy’s final chapter in this battle of good and evil debuts in print and digital format- The Pulptress Vs the Bone Queen: Blood and Bone!

“Being the creator of The Pulptress,” Tommy Hancock, Editor in Chief and Partner in Pro Se Productions says, “I am honored that so many people enjoy her adventures.  What was even better for me, though, was that Andrea Judy, when she wrote her story for the first Pulptress collection, found something in the character worth creating a suitable enemy for her.  And man, did she ever with The Bone Queen.  Equally tragic and horrific, The Bone Queen has everything a good Pulp villain needs and Andrea delivers all of it with a two fisted, yet concise style all her own. The Pulptress Vs the Bone Queen: Blood and Bone is not only a fitting close to the battle between these two characters, it’s also a fantastically told tale that is part quest for vengeance and part redemption story. And all fantastic.”

The Pulptress- Raised from birth by the world’s greatest heroes- and some of its villains as well – to be the greatest Champion for Justice and Right ever known.

The Bone Queen- Once an idealistic priestess to a Death Goddess, now the depraved embodiment of Death and twisted Resurrection, walking the Earth in search of unbelievable power.

These two women walk very different paths, paths that crossed explosively. But as they clash one final time, the Pulptress and the Bone Queen have something in common, the one thing that may kill them both- They thirst for vengeance!

Author Andrea Judy, creator of The Bone Queen, returns to the world of The Pulptress for a third time to bring to a close one of the most hardly fought and horrific duels New Pulp has ever seen- The Pulptress Vs The Bone Queen: Blood and Bone! And in this battle, no one may get out alive.

"I'm excited,” says Judy, “to share the amazing story of the Pulptress battling it out with the Bone Queen. It's been an amazing opportunity to have the Bone Queen grow into a villain truly wicked and worthy to go toe to toe with the Pulptress. I'm proud to let these two amazing women kick butt in the New Pulp world."

The Pulptress Vs the Bone Queen: Blood and Bone features stunning art work by Jeffrey Hayes, the Pulptress logo design by Sean Ali, and all other logo work by Hayes.  The print version formatted by Forrest Bryant is now available for $9.00 via Amazon at http://tinyurl.com/kl9x93o and at Pro Se’s own store at http://tinyurl.com/q8uhrjn. NEW ANTHOLOGY FROM PRO SE PRODUCTIONS TAKES NOIR TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL- ‘THE NINTH CIRCLE’ DEBUTS

Pro Se

A cutting edge Publisher of Genre Fiction, Pro Se Productions announces the release of a collection that is equal parts crime, mystery, and noir with pure pulp running through its printed veins.  Harkening back to the gritty tales of the 1950s as well as tipping its fedora to old time radio’s influence, The Ninth Circle is now available in print and digital formats.

The Ninth Circle,” says Tommy Hancock, Pro Se Partner and Editor in Chief, as well as creator of The Ninth Circle, “is a concept I’ve carried around for a long time.  It originally started as a way for me to write and pay homage to one of my favorite old time radio characters, Pat Novak For Hire.  So, the first character I came up with was Nameless, the Circle’s man for hire, who always tells stories in the first person and butchers the English language with metaphors and similes to do it.  But then I had to build a world around him, one he could function in and even be at home in.  And that’s when everyone else moved into the Circle.  At that point, I knew I had something more than just a little homage thing going on.  This was now a vibrant, active story that had so many levels.  So, it only made sense to bring in other authors to take their walk around the Circle.”

Every City has one. That place, neighborhood, or borough where the forgotten live, where the once great land when they fall, where the tarnished and corrupt shine and where Justice and Fairness caught the last train out of town. Welcome to the Ninth Circle.

The 9th Precinct is known as ‘The Ninth Circle’ or “The Dante Precinct’. The part of town where all the losers end up. If you work for a company or the city government and they want to get rid of you, they put you in their office or working over on Last Chance Lane. If you’re a criminal and you’re hiding from the law, other criminals, and yourself, you end up in the Ninth Circle. Imagine the city as a dumpster. The rank and fetid, the foul and odorous, the really discarded and misused trash all sinks to the bottom. They all end up in the Ninth Circle.

Join Tommy Hancock, R. P. Steeves, and C. William Russette as they introduce the people that populate the city’s last stop to nowhere. Dirty cops, mysterious priests, shadowy nurses, a man with no name, and more are the lifeblood of The Ninth Circle. From Pro Se Productions.

The Ninth Circle features evocative and atmospheric cover art by Adam Shaw, logo design and print formatting by Percival Constantine, and eBook formatting by Russ Anderson.   This debut digest anthology is available for $9.00 via Amazon at http://tinyurl.com/ornzxrv and at Pro Se’s own store at http://tinyurl.com/kmdcuba. CLASSIC PULP AUTHOR’S CHARACTERS RIDE THE RANGE ANEW! ‘CHARLES BOECKMAN PRESENTS THE WILD WEST’ DEBUTS!

Pro Se

Known as an innovator in Genre Fiction, Pro Se Productions announces the latest volume in its Charles Boeckman Presents imprint.  Featuring characters originally created by Pulp Author Charles Boeckman, Charles Boeckman Presents The Wild West returns classic Pulp heroes and villains to the range, courtesy of two of today’s best authors.

“Pro Se Productions,” says Tommy Hancock, Editor in Chief of and Partner in Pro Se Productions, “is more than honored to be responsible for bringing fantastic characters created by Charles Boeckman to modern readers in new tales.  Mister Boeckman has an immense talent for breathing as much humanity into characters as he does heroism.  His western leads aren’t the movie matinee idols, but men and women with wounds, both physical and otherwise, and staring down a six gun in more than one way. That makes revivals of Boeckman’s western work perfect for modern writers and readers.”

No period in American History was as untamed, dangerous, and exciting as what we refer to as ‘The Wild West’. And no man wrote gunslingers, lawmen, and ordinary folks made extraordinary in lawless cowtowns and harsh landscapes like Charles Boeckman. And now, those heroes crafted first by Boeckman in classic Western Pulp magazines live again in new tales from Pro Se Productions. Charles Boeckman Presents The Wild West!

Authors Phillip Drayer Duncan and Terry Alexander load their six guns with new stories featuring Boeckman’s distinct characters of the West. Ride along with men who make life and death choices on the turn of a hat and card, the slip of the tongue, or the wrong look. AUTHOR DERRICK FERGUSON JOINS PRO SE SINGLE SHOT SIGNATURE LINE WITH ‘TALES OF FORTUNE’!

Pro Se

Pro Se Productions proudly announces the debut of yet another stellar Pro Se Single Shot Signature Series. From the waterways of Sovereign City and the explosive imagination of author Derrick Ferguson comes a series of digital singles featuring characters from Ferguson's The Adventures of Fortune McCall!

Tales of Fortune is a recurring series of stand alone tales that will spotlight the team of friends that work side by side with Fortune McCall in his sanctioned crusade to save Sovereign City from its criminal element. From the decks of McCall's floating casino, The Heart of Fortune, to the darkest parts of Sovereign itself, the men and women who support McCall in his fight against evil now shine on their own in Tales of Fortune!

Tommy Hancock, Partner in and Editor in Chief of Pro Se Productions, states, “When an author creates a character, it is necessary to build a world around that character, place him or her amongst people who support the character and move the story along.  Derrick Ferguson doesn’t do that.  He creates multiple and varied personas that each could step off the page of the book they’re in into their own tales almost effortlessly.  Nowhere has he done that better than in The Adventures of Fortune McCall. From the debut of Fortune, readers have been asking for more McCall, but also more about the crew that traveled with him to Sovereign City.  And now, with the Pro Se Single Shot Signature line, we will have that, thanks to the ever talented Mister Ferguson.”

The debut story in this series, For Violent Fires that Soon Burn Out, focuses on Tracy Scott, McCall's cousin and probably the second most dangerous person on the Heart of Fortune. When McCall is asked by the head of a local organization to look into possible arsons of tenement buildings in the worst part of Sovereign, Fortune gives the duty to Tracy. With her own prejudices as well very negative feelings about playing detective, Tracy takes to the streets of the city to learn who is striking out at Sovereign's poor and helpless. As brick and steel burn around her, Tracy finds herself confronting corruption, deceit, and a madness most heated.

For Violent Fires that Soon Burn Out, the first digital single in Derrick Ferguson's Pro Se Single Shot Signature Series- The Tales of Fortune, sports a fantastic cover and logo design by Jeff Hayes and digital formatting by Russ Anderson. The debut short story of the series is available for only 99 cents for the Kindle via Amazon at http://tinyurl.com/l24zmjw and for most digital formats at http://tinyurl.com/n6q5hct.

PSYCHEDELIC PULP RETURNS WITH 'BLACK CENTIPEDE CONFIDENTIAL' BY CHUCK MILLER FROM PRO SE PRODUCTIONS

Pro Se

Pro Se Productions, a leader in Genre Fiction, proudly announces the latest novel from an author first published by Pro Se, the man who single handedly is credited by many for creating his own sub genre of New Pulp. Chuck Miller and his seminal creation, The Black Centipede, return for Miller’s latest foray into what has been termed by many as ‘Psychedelic Pulp’. Black Centipede Confidential is now available in print and digital format.

“Chuck Miller,” says Tommy Hancock, Partner in and Editor in Chief of Pro Se Productions, “may have one of the most singularly unique voices in New Pulp and Genre Fiction today.  His mixing of fantastic fiction and historical fact, his control of dialogue and the way he literally gives each character their own style, and the limitless world that he has created, where anything could happen and nothing is literally as we know it, all of that makes everything he does one major trip.  And The Black Centipede, clearly the character that has Chuck’s dark, twisted creative heart, is in top form in this latest work. Not only that, but Chuck deftly pulls off a series within a series as this novel is the second in Chuck’s Moriarty, Lord of the Vampires trilogy.”

The year is 1932. The place is Zenith, home of the mysterious Black Centipede. The sinister Professor James Moriarty comes calling, and he's brought a few friends with him: John Dillinger, Pretty Boy Floyd, Ma Barker, Bonnie and Clyde, the Bell Witch, the Loch Ness Monster, and the rest of the deadly Order of the Sunless Circle. Moriarty is looking for Jack the Ripper's Analytical Engine, and is prepared to destroy Zenith to find it.

But the Lord of the Vampires has reckoned without the Black Centipede, who rises to the challenge with a few friends of his own: F. Scott Fitzgerald, Amelia Earhart, J. Alfred Prufrock, Resurrection Mary, Doctor Unknown, Gregor Samsa, and the other stalwart members of the Invisible Round Table.

Where is the Analytical Engine? Who is the faceless assassin called Anonymoushka? Why does William Randolph Hearst want to fire Percival Doiley? What the heck is going on with Bloody Mary Jane Gallows? How can the Black Centipede possibly save the day?

The answers to these and many other questions can be found in Black Centipede Confidential, the second volume in Chuck Miller’s Moriarty, Lord of the Vampires trilogy and the wildest ride yet through the streets of Zenith and beyond. From Pro Se Productions.

Black Centipede Confidential features evocative cover art by David L. Russell, logo design and print formatting by Forrest Bryant , and eBook formatting by Russ Anderson.   The latest novel featuring the first Hero of Psychedelic Pulp is available for $15.00 via Amazon at http://tinyurl.com/pxmxnhv and at Pro Se’s own store at http://tinyurl.com/o474e6r. FIRST AUTHOR FOCUSED IMPRINT IN PRO SE SINGLE SHOT SIGNATURE LINE DEBUTS- FROM THE PEN OF ADAM LANCE GARCIA!

Pro Se

Pro Se Productions, the home of the Pro Se Single Shot Signature line of digital singles, announces the first of its Signature imprints. From the Pen of Adam Lance Garcia is the company’s first writer focused digital single imprint within its highly successful Pro Se Single Shot Signature line. Featuring stand-alone tales by today’s best writers, From the Pen of… will feature stories of all genres by both up and coming and notable authors.

“Sometimes,” says Tommy Hancock, Partner in and Editor in Chief of Pro Se Productions, “writers have stories to tell that are simply one and done.  Short tales that have a purpose, a point, and a whole lot of action, horror, and passion in them.  Not everything is a series and the From the Pen Of… imprint within our Pro Se Single Shot Signature line is designed for those stories by some of the best Genre Fiction Authors today.”

“Adam Lance Garcia,” continues Hancock, “is one of the most consistently great authors in New Pulp and Genre Fiction today.  And one of the things that makes Adam so good and such a value to anything he’s involved in is his diversity, his ability to write in multiple styles and, more often than not, completely outside of the box.  That’s why the From the Pen of Adam Lance Garcia is perfect for him.  It’s his own playground where he can tell the stories he wants to the way he wants to.”

In Testament, the first story in award winning author Adam Lance Garcia’s From the Pen of…, a desperate man literally relates his last words amid a miasma of murder and madness. Writing as the seconds of his life fall away like sands in a busted hour glass, the once confident, happy soul reveals that terror not only has a face and that the Devil may indeed wander through the snow. Testament by Adam Lance Garcia is the first digital single in his author imprint from Pro Se Productions.

From the Pen of Adam Lance Garcia features excellent cover art and logo design by Jeff Hayes and eBook formatting by Russ Anderson. Testament is only 99 cents for the Kindle via Amazon at http://tinyurl.com/ochch7t and for most digital formats on Smashwords at http://tinyurl.com/ojamlpt.

ZOOT SUITED MAGICIANS, BODACIOUS HEROIC BABES, TIME TRAVEL AND MORE-PRO SE PRODUCTIONS ANNOUNCES LICENSING OF 'THE WORLD OF BIG DADDY COOL'

Pro Se

An innovative Publisher of Cutting Edge Genre Fiction and New Pulp, Pro Se Productions announces the licensing of another real life character, one who first appeared in person, not in print or elsewhere.  Pro Se reveals today that the company has licensed the character of and all concepts related to Big Daddy Cool Johnny Dellarocca and the Bombshell Kittens, a literal universe of concepts created by the man Big Daddy Cool’s zoot suit, performer John Pyka.

“Big Daddy Cool” Johnny Dellarocca (Pyka) is a larger-than-life, over-the-top ex-gangster turned entertainer who fuses smokin’ swing music, amazing magic and illusion and authentic swing dance. For nearly 20 years he has entertained grown-up audiences with his patented fusion of soaring vocal music, amazing magic and illusion, and larger-than-life theatrics. He is a 3 Time Champion of Magic, 2 Time Entertainer of the Year, 2 Time Variety Artist of the Year, and was featured on the Channel 4 documentary The Convention Crasher with Justin Lee Collins. He is recognized by his peers as one of the top entertainers worldwide, and has made a name for himself recently on the Pop Culture Convention circuit as both performer and MC.

“There are just some stories,” Tommy Hancock, Partner in and Editor in Chief of Pro Se Productions states, “that scream to be told in as many ways as possible and by a company like Pro Se.  The tales of the Big Daddy Cool universe most definitely fit that bill.  To have a stage show and convention attraction with such an involved, absolutely pulpy and explosive back story is almost unheard of.  And then you throw in the anything-can-happen sense of this universe that is peopled with faces from Houdini to Elliot Ness to Titanic Thompson, and there’s nothing but fun waiting for everyone involved.  The pairing of fact (the actual performers and their stage show) with the fantastic fiction definitely makes this an ideal project for Pro Se Productions.”

The concept behind The World of Big Daddy Cool is that the stories told within the line are real and are being chronicled by various writers, Pyka being the first. Big Daddy Cool has lived a pretty colorful life, and that was before he was time displaced from 1946 to the present.

Harry Houdini taught him magic and Wyatt Earp taught him to shoot. He knocked out Jack Dempsey in under a minute and out-conned the king of con men, Titanic Thompson. Al Capone was a pal and Johnny taught him magic tricks to impress the ladies. He’s been a gangster, an entertainer, an international celebrity, nightclub impresario, and a secret superhero.

In 1946 Doc Impossible and Professor Maxwell Marvel created a chronal event that saved the world, but sent Johnny and hundreds of others into the future. THIS future. The Bombshell Kittens and Big Daddy were flung forward into this present and now Dellarocca has one mission- To find the Kittens so they and help them remember who they are so that they can be ready to protect the Nexus of Reality and save the world from from a an ancient cosmic evil.  Again.

The World of Big Daddy Cool imprint will debut in mid 2015 with Tales from the Flip Side by Pyka, which will outline Big Daddy’s origins, his initial time travel, and introduce various other characters that are a part of the BDC universe.  From super heroes to gangsters, fictional scientists to real life celebrities, the possibilities of stories to be told about a myriad of over the top Pulpy characters is nearly limitless in ‘The World of Big Daddy Cool.’

Following Tales from the Flip Side, Pro Se Productions plans to have a World of Big Daddy Cool anthology and announces that calls for this anthology, as well as novel and digest novel proposals of any and all characters in the imprint, are open as of now.

To request a bible for this imprint, please contact Anna Archer at projectcoordinator@prose-press.com. Proposals should be a minimum of two paragraphs and a maximum of two pages, single spaced in 12 point, Times New Roman.  If you have never published with Pro Se Productions before, a two page writing sample must be attached of your work, not necessarily a sample of your proposed story.  Proposals should be sent to submissions@prose-press.com.

Pro Se Productions is a royalty based company.  Percentages will be discussed when proposals are accepted.
