SUBMISSION CALL OPEN FOR MEDICAL ACTION AND SUSPENSE FROM PRO SE PRODUCTIONS-CHECK INTO ‘PULP MEDICAL’!
Pro Se
An innovative publisher of Genre Fiction and New Pulp, Pro Se Productions announces an open submissions call for stories full of action and adventure set in the medical profession. PULP MEDICAL is now open for proposals.
Tommy Hancock, Editor in Chief of and Partner in Pro Se, states, “Everybody loves a good doctor story. If you don’t believe me, do your research and you’ll find physicians have found themselves heroes in stories for centuries. Pulp Fiction had its fair share too as well as radio, TV, and just about any other form of entertainment you can imagine. PULP MEDICAL will be the title where Hospitals become the scene of the crime, the site of the hostage situation, the next frontier of adventure and exploration, or whatever the writers want. We’re definitely after Pulp tales, but instead of cops and masked avengers, we want the men and women skilled in the art of healing in the spotlight. PULP MEDICAL has the potential of being one of our most exciting, varied anthologies to date.”
PULP MEDICAL will only feature stories set in a hospital and with Doctors or nurses as the lead character(s). The tales must be set from 1900 to 2014. Stories may also include supernatural or fantastic elements, but the collection will not exclusively feature one genre of tale. Mystery, horror, crime, drama, and any other applicable genre is possible for stories in this volume.
Stories for PULP MEDICAL must be 10,000 words in length. A proposal of 100-500 words must be submitted to submissions@prose-press.com. Authors not previously published by Pro Se Productions must submit a writing sample of at least two pages with their proposals. Authors whose proposals are accepted must submit the first four pages of their accepted stories as quickly as possible for review by Pro Se staff. Final deadline for completed stories is 90 days following acceptance of proposals.
PULP MEDICAL is scheduled for publication in mid to late 2015 by Pro Se Productions.
